The holidays are over and we’re a week into 2019. I don’t know about you, but over the past 2 months I’ve over-spent and over-ate. I’m assuming most Americans participated in these 2 over indulgences with me since the top 4 New Years Resolutions are:
- Diet and eat healthier
- Exercise more
- Lose weight
- Save more money and spend less money
This article from Inc.com also stated 60% of Americans make New Years Resolutions and only 8% follow through with them (depending on the resolution of course). That doesn’t leave us with good odds :(.
I’m not really a resolution kinda girl, but I do like to create yearly vision boards. I like to think I’m a crafty person and enjoy the process of assessing the past year and creating a visual representation of what I want to accomplish in the upcoming year.
Whether you make resolutions, goals, or vision boards; wishing, wanting, and visualizing isn’t good enough. Add in positivity and action and you’re there!
First: Energy flows where attention goes, stay positive to move in a positive direction (see my blog post titled: One Negative Thought After Another). Second: you need to do something to make it happen = Action is required. When devising an action plan the system I use is:
- Write down a goal.
- Write steps I need to take to get to the goal.
- Brainstorm obstacles that may get in the way and write them down.
- Write down any additional steps, steps that changed, or just-in-case steps so I am prepared and ready to take action or adjust steps if necessary.
My wish for you is to be part of the 8% or heck let’s increase it to 20%!
