Making Goals Reality

Main Heading

The holidays are over and we’re a week into 2019.  I don’t know about you, but over the past 2 months I’ve over-spent and over-ate.  I’m assuming most Americans participated in these 2 over indulgences with me since the top 4 New Years Resolutions are:
  1. Diet and eat healthier
  2. Exercise more
  3. Lose weight
  4. Save more money and spend less money
This article from Inc.com also stated 60% of Americans make New Years Resolutions and only 8% follow through with them (depending on the resolution of course).  That doesn’t leave us with good odds :(.
I’m not really a resolution kinda girl, but I do like to create yearly vision boards.  I like to think I’m a crafty person and enjoy the process of assessing the past year and creating a visual representation of what I want to accomplish in the upcoming year.
Whether you make resolutions, goals, or vision boards; wishing, wanting, and visualizing isn’t good enough.  Add in positivity and action and you’re there!
First: Energy flows where attention goes, stay positive to move in a positive direction (see my blog post titled: One Negative Thought After Another).  Second: you need to do something to make it happen = Action is required.  When devising an action plan the system I use is:
  1. Write down a goal.
  2. Write steps I need to take to get to the goal.
  3. Brainstorm obstacles that may get in the way and write them down.
  4. Write down any additional steps, steps that changed, or just-in-case steps so I am prepared and ready to take action or adjust steps if necessary.
My wish for you is to be part of the 8% or heck let’s increase it to 20%!
